The York Trip

sunny

Last October, my friends and I visited York, a trip organised by the university's chaplaincy for international students.

It was a two-hour bus ride, which didn't feel very long since I talked to Khaliz non-stop (which annoyed everyone else because I tend to laugh very loud. Sorry!).

Anyways, the city of York reminds me of Diagon Alley in Harry Potter. Really, it wouldn't surprise me if I saw people with wands and broomsticks walking about!

There's loads of places to visit in York. We visited the Clifford's Tower, The Castle Museum and The National Railway Museum. Window-shopped at Shambles. Took a ride on the Yorkshire Wheel.

Unfortunately, we missed the MAIN attraction of York which is the York Minster. :(

I'd love to visit York again, but if I were to come here again, I'd stay for at least a night, because I'd like to experience the 'ghost tour'! (provided that I don't chicken out at last minute!) Definitely make it a point to visit the York Minster first and not forgetting the York Dungeon.

York is a must if you're a camwhore. We took, literally hundreds of photos in a day!

Hi tash,
Glad to hear you enjoyed your trip to York. I know what you mean about taking pics. We had a long weekend there May bank holiday and I think I upset my wife by spending more time with the camera than her!

If you are planning a trip back there, I'd recommend the Yorvik Centre too. It's a Viking village under the streets of York - but be prepared to queue, it's supposed to be one of the most popular attractions in the city.

There's easily enough to do in the York area to keep you going for a week. We found loads of cool stuff on http:www.hello-yorkshire.co.uk

Going to visit Whitby soon too. It's one of my favourite seaside towns.
